This Year has flown by. It’s time to choose my Product of the Year for 2024.
The choice was easy because only one Product stood out from the rest. Despite my best efforts to deny it, this may happen more than once in the next decade.
The first Product I will discuss is the Product that wasn’t cut.
Tesla Cybertruck
The Tesla Cybertruck has a disruptive design. It is the most innovative electric vehicle design in the U.S. since the Pontiac Aztek.
This pickup truck is faster than most sports cars and can even outperform street cars set up for drag races. However, it is very impractical, and most drivers are used to the Ford F-150.
I was tempted by the Cybertruck because of its incredible technology, but I ultimately chose the Fisker Ocean because it is more practical and looks better.
Fisker Ocean
I think the Fisker Ocean is the best SUV-based electrical vehicle on the U.S. market. It’s not as fast as Cybertruck, but it’s more practical and looks better.
This truck is ideal for electric vehicle buyers, as it has a 360-mile range. It also has several unique features, such as California Mode, which allows you to open the top and all windows with just one button.
The vehicle has solar panels on the roof that charge the car when it is in sunlight. This could give you more power at the airport when you return after a flight.
Rokid Max AR Glasses
The ROKID Max AR Smart Glasses were the first head-mounted display I was able to use during a plane trip, and they did not leave me wanting something better or different.
If Amazon had offered a packaging option, I would have purchased this Product as a present for several people in the past Year. After a long business trip, I can still put these on and blank out my laptop screen to make the flight seem like it only took a few minutes. I can also see around the lenses so people next to me or the staff on the plane can get my attention if they need it.
These glasses enhance my enjoyment. They represent an intriguing path for the future of personal tech and a possible route where smartphones will eventually replace PCs. My glasses are mainly used with my laptop and my phone.
70mai Omni Dash Cam
This Year, the 70mai omni-dash cam was my favorite gift. The dashcam that looks like R2D2 has proven to be both useful and entertaining while driving. It rotates to automatically take selfies, and I can monitor my cars while I’m not there. It looks great on the window, and it reminds me to take a break if I have been driving for too long.
The dashcam recorded an accident that happened to me a few months ago. I’ve yet to watch the video because it was so traumatic. Having it still gives me peace. It greets me when I get into the car and makes me smile. I cannot wait to see the evolution of this Product.
HP Spectre Foldable Laptop
The HP Spectre foldable touchscreen is my favorite foldable-screen laptop. It’s so great because the screen can be expanded to 17 inches and is still as portable as a 13-inch laptop.
It’s not for everyone, but it is stunning and catches attention when unfolded to its full size. This laptop was the technology highlight of this Year. I do not expect to see many around, but I am sure they will attract attention.
HP Envy Move Portable All-In-One PC
The HP Move All-in One costs $749 and is perfect for dorm rooms or for home users who work from home.
This Product is ideal for anyone who wants a device to watch movies and stream them while they are in the bath or while working. It has a magnetized handle, a 4-hour battery life, and a 24-inch screen.
This portable PC could be useful for kids who live in RVs or adults who want to watch football during the holidays. It was one of those items I never knew I needed until I saw it.
TicWatch Pro 5
The TicWatch Pro 5 is the closest thing to an Apple Watch that I have found in an Android product.
It tracks biometric data, allows me to make calls, and I wear it daily. It looks better than the Apple Watch, and it has a battery that lasts for days.
TicWatch Pro 5 for Android is my choice for the best smartwatch on the market. It shows how quickly others are catching up to Apple’s dominance in smartwatches.
ChatGPT-4
chatGPT-4 was a market-smashing product that went vertical, thanks to Microsoft. Microsoft announced it would be integrating it into Office, Windows, and its Copilot feature.
ChatGPT-4 surprised Google and the rest of us, who did not believe AI was progressing as quickly as it has. It was expected that artificial general intelligence (AGI), a form of AI that exceeds human intellect in all fields, would not be achieved until 2040. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has said that AGI could be reached by the end of this decade.
Windows 12, which was previously predicted to be released at the end of this decade, will arrive next Year. This is largely due to the ChatGPT technology, which has dramatically increased the rate of Windows updates.
The AI race has begun, and unfortunately, it will include malware. This is why tools such as these are needed to be developed for defensive purposes. HP’s Wolf Security unit predicts that technologies such as these will be extremely effective in terms of malware next Year. They are ramping up security measures to counter this wave, but many will be woefully underprepared.
The capabilities of these offerings will change the workplace, allowing for a small number of employees to perform the tasks of many. This could reduce the amount of staff that most companies require. This technology is a blessing for those organizations that are currently understaffed. It will finally allow them to catch up with their workload.
Digital assistants will have some of the most significant effects. They will appear to be much smarter, able to work autonomously, give advice, and assist people in making better decisions.
This technology is primarily focused on improving customer service and sales performance, but it can also help children better plan their futures, choose better career paths, and become better adults.
While ChatGPT was born out of controversy, it will do incredible good. I hope that more people will know about it in the future.
However, OpenAI’s ChatGPT-4 is my Product of the Year. If you think AI is crazy now, wait until next Year.
